"You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant." - Harlan Ellison
Working in Groups of 4/5 devise, propose and deliver a visual intervention/happening or activity that highlights some aspect of modern day life that - as a group - you feel warrants attention. We would like you to take a satirical approach to modern day living and use your abilities to visually communicate your opinions in order to promote, prevent or comment on something that is - quite frankly - 'PANTS!!!!!'. Your response should make the most of your combined practical and conceptual, capabilities.
Our group started drafting ideas into mind maps to try and visualise a problem, one of the stand out ideas was the 'pants' state of public toilets and the experiences we have in them, we have further developed this idea and looked into how we could comment on this issue, and why we want to address the problem. Motivational quotes and pictures on social networks like Instagram is also something that annoys us, there is a definite template - nice picture of the sea and a handwritten quote about happiness etc. maybe we could make fun of this?
Another group told us that we should maybe combine both ideas, but this would be too difficult and just overcomplicated things, so we have decided to focus on public toilets which we feel has more mileage in terms of research and idea development.
